Formed by Jacqui Vixen and Johnny Navarro in 2002 in East London, the band has released four albums on their own label November Tenth Records. After touring constantly for six years the band has built a loyal following from the goth, punk and psychobilly scenes in the UK and Europe and became the house band at the London club Dead and Buried. Their latest release,"Flesh Ride", rocked the scene in 2009 and DV8Fest is one of only 2 live shows annouced for 2010 as they spend time preparing to record their 5th album. We are happy that they will be taking the time out to DV8 with us.

Modulate is the hard industrial project of Wendyhouse's Mutate, DJ Geoff Lee.
Their debut Skullfuck EP went crashing straight into the German DAC alternative charts giving the band a worldwide club hit that was described as "the industrial scene's club hit of the year" in ReGen magazine. The band spent several months on the road in 2007 supporting VNV Nation and Combichrist. Their debut album Detonation was released worldwide on the 23rd Sept 2008.
Zombina and the Skeletones have been wrenching 100% pure rock n' roll genius from the very pits of their tortured, vampiric souls since 1998. As a live band they're the bloodiest and most funnest cult experience you can have short of sacrificing yourself to some goat headed deity in the woods on St. Swithens Night. On record they're the 'Beatles of Horror', with 'hit' packed albums such as "Taste the Blood of Zombina and the Skeletones", "Halloween Hollwerin''(sic), "Monsters On 45" and "Death Valley High" a must in any self-dissecting ghoul's collection... the new album "Out of the Crypt and Into Your Heart" is out OFFICIALLY in the UK on May 22nd...
Management lawsuits, a record company that went bust, crooked accountants and nervous breakdowns, Gene Loves Jezebel suffered all the obstacles the industry could throw at them. The band was formed in 1983 by Welsh twin brothers Jay and Michael Aston. The band enjoyed considerable success in the U.K. after signing to Beggars Banquet. Michael Aston left the band in 1989, but later rejoined for ill-fated tour in 1997, before leaving for good. Since then Jay has continued to tour with the band in the USA, South America and Europe. The band continue to tour in the UK and Europe and have undertaken three US tours in the past year. We are glad to welcome them to DV8Fest
Born as a side project from X-Fusion, Noisuf-x creates its own style [something like a hybrid of industrial, noize, electro and ambient music]. The project´s definition is simple and clear: An apocalyptic and fearful view of the world is what NOISUF-X, the side-project of X-FUSION, is dealing with. It describes a cold and hopeless atmosphere musically with harsh distorted beats, experimental sounds and pushing sequences.
The recurrent soundstructures and its simple monotony build a catchy opposite to X-FUSION. With 3 studio albums to it's name Noisuf-X is here..
Nosferatu were formed in March 1988 by Damien DeVille, Vlad Janicek, and Sapphire Aurora. They are one of the most successful second wave Gothic rock groups in the world. Their albums, singles, and DVD have sold over 100,000 copies world-wide. They have also sold hundreds of thousands of songs on various compilation albums since their first commercial release in the early 1990s. Nosferatu have the credibility and good fortune of being one of the few UK-based Gothic rock bands to receive chart success both in the UK and Germany. After working with them at The Other Side in Whitby, DV8Fest are happy to welcome them for what promises to be another amazing performance
Inkubus Sukkubus formed in the summer of 1989 when Tony McKormack, Candia Ridley and Adam Henderson met at college studying graphic design. They shared an interest in paganism, witchcraft and vampirism as well as making original music from an early age, and so the type of band that was to emerge from the joining of forces was, quite naturally, an expression of this. Initially the band was called Incubus Succubus. The original aim of the band was (as it still is today) to be the vehicle in which the celebration of the Pagan experience could be conveyed. From their first single, Beltaine through to their latest release, Viva la Muerte, Inkubus Sukkubus have produced an amazing body of work with 13 albums over the last 20 years and continue to tour and play live dates across the world and a new album is on it’s way.
Deviant UK has established itself as a star of the European Dark Alternative stage, spearheading the newly resurgent British scene. The band unleashed debut album 'Barbed Wire Star' in October 2006, spawning the anthemic club hits 'Raptured Saints' and 'Access Denied!'. Their unique sound is powerful, distinctive & instantly accessible. Quintessentially English & proud of it, Deviant UK is masterminded by devilish singer/songwriter Jay Smith ("a true showman with an ego the size of a planet" - Rocksound Magazine). This is cybergothic pop with a black heart, Smith's angst-ridden vocals coating every song in ice. Memorable hooks betray a pop science that stands Deviant UK head & shoulders above their peers.
Ed' Tudor Pole & his band 'TEN POLE TUDOR' enjoyed a number of UK Hit Singles between 1979 and 1981, with their signature Hit being 'Swords Of A Thousand Men' which hit the u.k charts at UK no 6 in 1981. ED TUDOR POLE is a descendant of Henry VIII (not many of those have appeared in UK Pop Charts) and initially went to RADA to train as an actor but fell in with The SEX PISTOLS in 1978 after the departure of John Lydon from the band (he appeared in the film The Great Rock’n’Roll Swindle performing his own number 'Who Killed Bambi') , however, 2 weeks into the Pistols bassist Sid Vicious died, and the rest is history.
Vendemmian were formed at the end of 1992 after Dave (guitars) and Mark (Bass) left their previous band. They recruited vocalist, Dominic, via an advert in the Melody Maker and soon began writing material. With a number of qulaity releases across the next five years they left a trail of destruction, (which ended in self destruction) around the Goth venues of the world. after much discussion it was decided that Vendemmian was not finished and the band reformed in 2008.
Tenek is the latest project from Geoff Pinckney (The Nine/Mesh) and Pete Steer. The sound features shades of classic electronica fused with a contemporary twist. Already being cited as one of this years most vibrant and infectious electronic acts, tenek are going from strength to strength. The band are currently working on the new album which is due for release in late Summer. There is no knowing where next this excellent project will turn to.
Pink Hearse are a 4 piece Punk/Horrorpunk band from Fleetwood/Blackpool North UK. Since Pink Hearse formed in late 2005 they have built up a solid live reputation with high energy stage performances. They have created and moulded their own sound which draws inspiration from the Oldschool Punk sounds of 'Siouxie and the Banshees' and 'X-Ray Spex' and to an extent 'The Dead Kennedys'. The band is also reminiscent of more modern outfits such as 'The Horrorpops' and the 'Distillers'.
Debuting at Judgement Day in 2009, Pretentious, Moi? is the long awaited project from Tim Chandler, best known from his work with Manuskript and is a continuation and evolution of the best from the UK and German goth scene. Joining him to combine the influences of The Mission, Cassandra Complex and Rosetta Stone are Christian Tonkin (Manuskript), Matt Helm and Gordon Young (The Dream Disciples). Their energetic live show brings back to life a goth scene of yesteryear and moves it forward. After their successful UK Debut at Whitby Goth Weekend we are happy to welcome Pretentious' Moi? to York for DV8.
Goteki make chunky electro tunes about stuff like robot geishas, plastic surgery and murdering strippers in the desert. They are a UK-based alternative band, mixing electro-industrial pop with lyrical and melodic stylings reminiscent of the early new romantics. The music is solely written, performed and produced by frontman Ross Tregenza, and then expanded out to suit a live band for gigs. Originally formed in 2000, Tregenza broke up the band in ’06, but reformed it late in ’08 with a new line up and a wealth of new material. The new band has the cocky, light-hearted attitude of the earlier incarnation, but with darker, more mature undertones
Eureka Machines are a Leeds-based rock/punk/pop band, who have played all over the UK with bands like The Wildhearts, Forward Russia and The Rascals. Headed up by Chris Catalyst (Sisters of Mercy) they are perhaps the smartest band you will see, who wear the suits because it makes them feel good. Every gig for them is an occasion. You wouldn't get married in your shorts, would you? Well, you might, but they wouldn't. The atmosphere at their gigs is electric and may well lead to your own Eureka! moment.
After completing a UK tour after only being together from November 2008, ROMANCE have already made noticeable waves in the London music scene and around the UK. Championed as the pioneers of the imminent 'gloom-pop' movement their angular guitars, tribal drumming, creeping bass lines and soulful vocal melodies create crashing tides of dark noise. Consisting of David Woods, Alexander Glover, Samantha Valentine and Jamie Lovatt,ROMANCE have been described as "...a band that are defining themselves with a unique sound and energy that is seriously addictive!" www.thepixzine.co.uk
Manchester centered project SkinjoB was originally formed by founder members 'Fitz' and artist 'Manns' back in 1991 when they set out to produce 'post modern industrial dance' in the days of frontline assembly, nitzer ebb, ministry, skinny puppy and former 'revco' guitarist trent reznor's then new band, Nine Inch Nails. SkinjoB became the solo project of Fitz and the project has undergone serious development over the last few years into the modern electronica / ebm / industrial direction. Skinjob take their name from the name for replicants from Blade Runner and produce a level of music which others find dificult to replicate.
Drummer RatFink had joined goth legends Alien Sex Fiend when he was a teenager and had stayed for 7 years before leaving to join Blackpool's Stooges-influenced Dogfood, a band Dunk had toured with when fronting Fleetwood punk rock band the Headhunters. After meeting vocalist Dunk, theytalked about forming a band together at the time but nothing came of it until Rat and guitarist Johnny Volume (ex-Dogfood) decided to form a band to play trashy rock and roll. They needed an equally trashy vocalist and Uncle Fester was formed. Now they have been twisted by voodoo to form U-FX.

The band have played their first live gigs in the UK, these have been received extremely well. One review describing the band as an angrier Goth Manic street Preachers, purely for the power of their live performance.
V2A was formed back in December 2001. Screaming Banshee Aircrew have a history deeply entwined with Deviational Media and are happy to return to the city where it all began. Their recent release ‘Sugar’ is as refined as the name suggests, and their energetic live act shows a versatility and intensity which truly earns them the title of TrashVogue Pioneers. There is something fitting about a twisted rockabilly band from york calling themselves the Surf Sluts. Described as The Beach Boys from the chaos dimension, The Surf Sluts provide one of the greatest live performances to be seen in the North East. Ever since the release of Pot Sounds in 2001 through to the recent release Scarytale in Olde York, The Surf Sluts are one of the must see bands of York's music scene.
Rhombus are regarded as one of the finest Goth Rock bands to emerge from England in many years. Mixing male and female vocals with swirling guitars and driving bass, they combine some of the best elements of traditional 80s/90s UK Goth, with their own more modern distinctive approach. The songs are well crafted and catchy, possessing both depth and a sharp sense of humour.
January 2010 saw the release of Open The Sky. The production is the best Rhombus have delivered, thanks in no small part to Stephen Carey (The Eden House) coming on board to handle the mixing duties.
3 years in the making The Ladder finally surfaced upon finding A catalyst to complete it's build, fusing together elements of Industrial and EBM we bring A new sound to the stage, The Ladder like any machine is fine tuned, cold and calculated...Named after an experimental drug allegedly used by the U.S. Army in the Vietnam war. Drawing on the darkness of post-punk, the theatre of 70s glam (Bowie/Eno/Reed/Pop) and the commerciality of 80s new wave, Luxury Stranger are a 'Jekyl and Hyde' style of band - a methodical architect in the studio and a passionate powerful monster on the stage. Luxury Stranger is currently playing live as often as possible to promote the 'Desolation' album and help expand the band's growing fanbase. Music transmitted into the future by a steam-driven machine, built by a Victorian child. Chiming guitars, rumbling bass and otherworldly synthesizers describe another world where people struggle to come to terms with being ghosts and wind-whipped trees sigh as they recount lost loves. Formed in York in mid-2008 by songwriter, singer and guitarist Alexander King from the ashes of the popular rock band AKP, GLASS represents a total change in every way from what has gone before.
Industrial zombie punk act Flesh Eating Foundation lurched out of the UK underground scene some time during the 1990’s. Currently performing as a core of the two founding members Jon E. Smoke and The Juddaman, they have two albums currently available, released on the back of a series of self released limited run EPs, ‘Seethe’ and ‘Purging’. Wrapped in Plastic are those sickos that bribe you with sweets and then twist your brain with their gothy dark twisted rock. Goth rock punk that creeps around somewhere in the middle of Placebo, Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson jamming naked in front of The Cat In The Hat". The best thing to come from Birmingham since ...
